Tried "hitTest" but got nothing. Number going up far to fast to warrant doing it with *1 or *8.

Change the requirement for the medal from 10000 to 16 (aka instant medal):
96 05 00 07 10 27 00 00 => 96 05 00 07 10 00 00 00

This would've been a good practice hack for beginners as it's a very simple game!
