How can you trigger the medals? i've replaced the AoB but to no avail. Thanks

Replace the AOB, then as gates said, "meat up." Meaning just eat your first werewolf, and you'll get all the medals except the broken level 3 medal. You won't see medal popups in the game, but they do unlock.
