Gold isn't in 4bytes*x+y for all I can see, will try with 8bytes.

someone posted that it's 4bytes*8+6. My cheat engine returns me no value when I search for my gold amount like that... Did I fail in a epic and embarassing way or is it not working?

Just checked, it's working. You may want to work on your math.

You start out with 100 coins. 100 * 8 + 6 = 806, search 806.
Upgrade for 100, that leaves you with 0. 0 * 8 + 6 = 6, search 6.
You should only have 1 result.
Change it to something like 80006.

Another alternative would be to use kadat's Raw Data AoB Extractor. Go to Tools > CE 4byte Tool and enter your value. It'll do all of the math for you.
