What should we do about bullshit?

tim, im pretty sure what he meant was take all the people that usually submit hacks (lolwut dudial haena etc etc) and have a group for them where they get points for every upvote. while everyone else that submits a hack and ISNT in that group will have to wait until after 5 upvotes to get points for them

I'm just going to state my opinion after reading this post even though it will probably offend somebody or piss of the people that put so much thought into this. But after reading this post i kinda question the point of well the point system. I mean i understand and all its point when it was put in place. But to keep people from abusing it and whatnot? It's not like the points actually matter. And if somebody is going to go through the effort of getting massive amounts of points, then isn't it obvious that they really don't want to get into the negative value? I mean I myself have submitted some hacks, but honestly i felt that this need for points was actually pretty redundant. I'm still not too sure what will happen when i hit 0 points but i'm pretty sure i'm not going to be banned from the site or anything.

So i just want to add my 2 cents and ask. Is all this thought and scripting really worth the point system in the first place?

You can do a bunch of cool stuff with points.  Upgrade your account, buy little profile thingies, play the stocks, and soon we'll have an actual MMO to play using your points.

Points act as an auto-pruning system.  We don't want to be one of those sites that boasts millions of users, when in reality there's a handful of daily users.  No one gets banned, their old account just gets "dropped".  I send out "Redemption" emails every month that allow people to unlock their old accounts and they get a 200pt bonus for coming back.

Nothing happens till you hit -100pts.
