The 'gotCaught = false' cheat only helps unlocking the medals. As for the geek hack, it tricks the game into thinking you're near the geek, that way you can increase your cheat-o-meter or w/e it's called no matter where you are. As always when dealing with AoBs, you have to apply the changes before starting the game.

Just to add to KH's comment, you just need to click the mouse button whilst sat at your desk. There is one level that is a little harder where you have to look at the answer sheet in an empty classroom.
