It was made for the same reason as the ODST threads were made when the tickets came out - to discuss how to hack the games to get the certain award. If anything this seems pointless, but it allows people to get "fast" help without bringing up 6 old threads, to get the award.
It was good for me, as I didn't realise that the points were available to those who had the badges...and that it was only needed to load a game that has one of the necessary badges to get the points. Nice one (broken image removed)

me either but i just loaded a game up to see if it would work and it did so i was happy
