Ragnarok doesn't run

Hey, I'm having an issue running Ragnarok. I just got it and when I open it I I get a popup window:
Ragnarok has stopped working.

Sometimes the error window appears immediately, other times it takes a few seconds. I've also tried running the exe as administrator.

I'm running Vista Home Premium SP2, 32bit.

I've searched through the KH forums and Google but haven't found any (useful) information...

Any (useful) ideas?

open windows explorer and navigate yourself to
mainDrive:/program files/ agdar the barbarian

right click the ragnarok folder and uncheck the read only box. apply change to subdirectories and folders.

Changing the setting on the folder and files fixed the issue.

But only once.

After closing Ragnarok, and then returning later, I got the same error message as before.

Now that's an interesting question. I do not know and I don't recall where I got it from.

Most of the installed files are from 2008, with the setup msi file and the ragnarok.exe file itself both from is 7/1/2008.

I also have missing flash.ocx error when I try to open Niflheim.

There's not really any point of using Ragnarok anymore anyway, unless its for the .sol editor.

I would recommend using Minerva sol editor which is here

I want to be able to edit/monitor root variables.  When I was on an XP computer, Niflheim did exactly what I wanted beautifully.  It doesn't work on my current computer.  I managed to get Ragnarok working by undoing the read-only thing, but Rag doesn't exactly do root variables.
