I was having problems with my account, Smoshi
It wouldn't reset my password even after changing it through the email link I received.
So I went ahead and just made a new account. That account was banned, and finally was able to get back into my Smoshi account only to see;

Your account has been point dropped.

Now I can't login.. and that makes me a sad panda. Been a member for quite awhile.. would really suck to be perm banned over something I couldn't control.

Yes we have a policy where you lose 2 points per day, but as long as you are active on the account and contribute in some way (heres a list) your account will be fine. You should message TIM (The Ignorant Masses) asking for an account redemption and if you still cannot reset your password, im sure either TIM, Gates, or KolonelKadat can help you since they are developers on the site.

So, you mean to tell me that you have a banned account, yet you keep making more?

Well, the best any ban can really do is block your IP.... so I guess that'll just have to continue...

I was able to gain some points awhile back by data mining. However, there haven't been any opportunities since.

I detest opening my mouth unless I have something useful to say, so it would be nice if I could earn points and my upkeep through other means.

except now the "hack submission" is split into different categories worth different amounts. tim should probably update that and put it back onto the navigation bar up top

Can I suggest that staying active also earn points?

Sometimes there're not much things to say and if they're just useless chats, we might get banned or flamed.
Other than that, almost every hack has already been submitted other than the difficult ones.
This makes smaller people like me that only know how to search for the basic hacks such as "4 Bytes", "4 Bytes * 8", "4 Bytes * 8 + 6", "Double", "Double * 8" and "(4 Bytes & Double) Unknown Initial Value then Increase Value or Decrease Value" much more difficult to earn points.

I know that you guys would say "Why not you learn how to hack other types?".
I did try to learn pointers through the tutorial and I could do it but I still can't do it in any game and will still mess up somewhere which I don't even know where I did wrong...
Other than that, I've also tried to learn AOB but it needs to download so many things and a very difficult and long process...

Check my sig for some tutorials and the tools. You don't need many. SWF dumper and SoThink (or a free alternative) are pretty much all you need, there are a few more tools that make the process easier but they aren't needed. You could go mine data for a bunch of quick points (* Data Mine * at the top of every page). You can vote on the hacks that you're using, go bullshit in chat (you get points for that too), review the games you're playing, etc. There are plenty of things you can do to earn points aside from submitting hacks. Below is a list of things you can do to earn points as well as their value...

 

Well, chat points aren't working quite yet.  Still dicking around with hackbot to get it to work right.

Well, even with that not working there are still a bunch of easy ways to score points. So "staying active" will get you points. Leeching however, will not. Vote on the hacks you use, go bullshit in the talk forum (that's what it's there for), review your games, add a .SOL, and you'll be fine.

Yeah, how does one "stay active" without doing any of the things that innately earn points? What else is there? Earn points from lurking and logging in?

Everything you do earns points.  It's only doing nothing that doesn't earn anything.
